United States President Joe Biden is expected to tap former US Senator, and an ex-astronaut, William Nelson (pictured) for the position of NASA administrator, the Verge reported on Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter.
The decision could be announced by the end of the week, the report read, adding that Pamela Melroy, an ex-astronaut herself, could serve as Nelson’s deputy.
Nelson has previously served three terms as a senator and was appointed a member of NASA’s advisory council in 2019.
