Amazon warehouse employees at Bessemer, Alabama location voted against unionizing and joining the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union on Friday, the National Labor Relations Board reported. An estimated 71% of the voters decided they preferred to deal with the company directly and not pay the labor union.
In an official blog post, Amazon wrote: “Amazon didn’t win—our employees made the choice to vote against joining a union. Our employees are the heart and soul of Amazon, and we’ve always worked hard to listen to them […] and invest heavily to offer great pay and benefits in a safe and inclusive workplace”.
After news arrival, Amazon stocks gained 1.89% to sell for $3,361 per share, highest level in two months.
