After President Biden’s $ 1.9 trillion pandemic aid bill was passed by<\/div>\n
little in the Chamber at dawn on Saturday, all attention would now turn to the vote in the<\/div>\n
Senate.\u00a0In the meantime, investors will also look at the US jobs report, which will be<\/div>\n
released on Friday;\u00a0GDP data from Australia, Brazil, Canada and Turkey, as well as PMI surveys<\/div>\n

In the US, investor focus is on the February jobs report, which will provide a<\/div>\n
view on the state of the labor market recovery.\u00a0The non-agricultural payroll should<\/div>\n
increase by 165 thousand, which would still leave the economy with about 10 million jobs lacking<\/div>\n
jobs since the peak of February 2020;\u00a0while the unemployment rate is expected to remain<\/div>\n
unchanged at 6.3%, well above pre-pandemic levels of around 3.5%.\u00a0Meanwhile, the<\/div>\n
ISM PMI surveys are expected to signal strong manufacturing and service growth rates during<\/div>\n
February, despite high levels of unemployment and lack of government support.\u00a0Other publications<\/div>\n
notable are external trade balance;\u00a0factory orders;\u00a0construction spending;\u00a0Change of<\/div>\n
ADP employment;\u00a0Economic optimism of IBD \/ TIPP;\u00a0and the final readings from the Markit PMIs and the<\/div>\n
labor productivity in the fourth quarter.<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
In other parts of America, the following key figures include Canada’s GDP growth in the<\/div>\n
quarter and current account, trade balance and PMI surveys from Markit and Richard Ivey School<\/div>\n
of Business;\u00a0Mexican business morale, gross fixed investment and PMI Markit Manufacturing;\u00a0and the<\/div>\n
GDP figures, industrial production, foreign trade and PMI Markit for the fourth quarter of Brazil.<\/div>\n
Across the Atlantic, all eyes are on the UK Chancellor’s budget<\/div>\n
Rishi Sunak, who is likely to reveal additional support measures for businesses and families<\/div>\n
affected by the pandemic.\u00a0In front of economic data, the main launches in Great Britain<\/div>\n
include final Markit PMI data, Halifax and Nationwide housing price indices, sales of<\/div>\n
new cars and monetary indicators from the Bank of England.\u00a0The PMI flash survey signaled levels<\/div>\n
stable levels of UK private sector production, helped by a smaller decline in<\/div>\n
service sector activity and a resumption in the expansion of industrial production.<\/div>\n
Elsewhere in Europe, investors will keep an eye on the final Markit PMI surveys for the<\/div>\n
euro area, Germany and France, while Italy and Spain will publish their estimates<\/div>\n
preliminary.\u00a0In addition, the main inflation, unemployment and retail trade reports will be<\/div>\n
launched for the eurozone and Germany, while several European countries will continue to update<\/div>\n
GDP growth figures for the fourth quarter, including Italy and Turkey.\u00a0Other data to follow<\/div>\n
include: Euro Area producer prices;\u00a0Factory orders in Germany;\u00a0Trade balance<\/div>\n
and France’s current account;\u00a0Consumer prices and retail sales in Switzerland;\u00a0and inflation data from<\/div>\n
Holland, Turkey and Russia.\u00a0Poland’s central bank will decide on interest rates.<\/div>\n

In China, traders will turn their attention to the February PMI updates from NBS and<\/div>\n
Caixin, with forecasts pointing to steady growth in manufacturing activity, as the<\/div>\n
country continues to recover from the coronavirus crisis.\u00a0In Japan, Jibun Bank will publish its PMIs<\/div>\n
finals for February.\u00a0Other important data for Japan includes consumer confidence, the rate of<\/div>\n
unemployment and capital expenditures in the fourth quarter.<\/div>\n
The Reserve Bank of Australia will hold its monetary policy meeting, but no change is<\/div>\n
expected.\u00a0With regard to economic data, the main data to be observed include GDP of the<\/div>\n
fourth quarter, current account, Ai Group manufacturing, construction and services indexes, balance<\/div>\n
building permits and housing loans.\u00a0Elsewhere, the quick estimate<\/div>\n
India for foreign trade and Markit PMIs will be highlighted.<\/div>\n
Other highlights for the Asia-Pacific region include: final GDP reading for the fourth quarter of<\/div>\n
South Korea, inflation, industrial production, retail sales, trade balance and manufacturing PMI<\/div>\n
Markit;\u00a0New Zealand building permits and foreign trade prices;\u00a0Retail sale of<\/div>\n
Hong Kong;\u00a0Inflation rates for Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
